What a wonderfull place to stay. Good atmosphere and very kindly staff.
A very pleasant stay - an amazing breakfast. Porridge with Irish Whisky is a great way to start the day!
Excellent. Very nice bar area-relaxing! Great location
Stayed about same time last year too, and in both cases the weather was very hot and humid. The room fans help a bit but you should consider providing small fridges or mini bars in all rooms. Enjoyed the stay, the new road/trees, will enhance the look of the riverside - thanks
Great staff - helpful and cheerful
I very much enjoyed our stay. Your location is great for seeing the sights and it is very easy to find. The staff was extremely helpful. The food was well prepared and we enjoyed the breakfast. My great-grandfather fought alongside the Irish Brigade in our Civil War, and the history connection with the general's home was interesting. Great hotel and we will definitely say again.
We only spent one night....wish it could have been longer! Hotel is absolutely beautiful with old world charm blended perfectly with all the modern amenities. The breakfast was fantastic, both food and service!
Magnificent old hotel. Rooms were very spacious and well decorated. We enjoyed our drink at the bar. Enjoyed our dinner and the musical entertainment. We stayed after we finished our dinner to listen to the musical entertainment, very enjoyable! I have to say that the breakfast the next morning was the best we had on our five days in Ireland. The fresh baked goods were exceptional. I never thought of putting a bit of Bailey's Irish Cream on my oatmeal but the staff at the Granville did! If I am ever in Waterford again, I will be back as will the rest of our party!
The location was perfect, the staff were very friendly and the food was great.
I cannot fault it. Thank you
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Granville Hotel in Waterford. It was beautifully decorated throughout and our room was clean and in good order. A good central location for a visit to Waterford Crystal.
This is a lovely hotel. It is very clean and comfortable. We loved the breakfast: probably one of the best we had, and the bar area was quite comfortable. The only draw back was no air conditioning and the room was warm. The other problem was lack of wifi in our room above the office
Beautiful, grand old hotel in a great location. The staff is excellent !
wonderful help \ service from Richard Hurley
Enjoyed our short (2 nights) stay. Excellent room, great atmosphere and VERY friendly staff.
Very welcoming hotel, I recommend it !
We found our stay very comfortable, staff always kind, and the breakfast a feast. We would gladly recommend to any one thinking of staying in Waterford to try the Granville Hotel. PS try the homemade bread and jam and marmalade.
We found this to be a very interesting and historic hotel that has been carefully upgraded/restored. We loved staying there and our room, though not large was beautiful and very comfortable with its waterfront view. The location was very convenient for easy walking to the main Waterford points of interest and restaurants.
My wife and I were very pleased indeed that we booked the Granville Hotel for our short stay in Ireland. From day one when we arrived the service provided by the hotel, in all aspects, was first class. The breakfasts were excellent and plentiful, the one evening meal we had very good indeed, and the service provided by the hotel staff excellent. Our other evening meals taken in the bar were very good, and very reasonably priced. All in all, we were very pleased with what the Granville had to offer, and we would recommend it to other travellers without hesitation. Martin Smith, Llandeilo,Wales.
Lovely atmosphere, excellent service in dining room at breakfast, meals wonderfully prepared and delicious. Would love to return!!
Hi there, can you let me know anywhere that my review comments might be displayed? Thanks!
Beautiful hotel at a great price! Amazing breakfast. Within walking distance to Waterford Factory. Would stay here again and would recommend to others.l
Beautiful hotel and bar, very comfortable size room, great customer service. Be sure if you have mobility concerns you advise the front desk when booking as some rooms require steps to reach even though elevator appears to take you to the correct floor.
Beautiful hotel and well-kept property. Room was very comfortable. Very good breakfast in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for nice accommodations at a good value price.
We stayed here for two nights in May just before the heavy tourist season. This is an older hotel, with features from the 40's, 50's, etc. Friendly staff and a large pub right off the main lobby with reasonably- priced food. There are some things to consider, at least for older Americans accustomed to more modern accommodations: 1.) There is only one small lift to the upper floors. It will accommodate two persons with their luggage. It could be a real hassle if you arrive at the same time as a tour bus. 2.) Once you are at your floor, there are liable to be short flights of stairs to haul luggage up and down to get to your room. Might have been quaint in the 50's, but difficult for older folks. 3.) The place could use a good cleaning. Dust has accumulated on things like lamps, the tissue dispenser in the lav, the picture frames and headboard. Looks like the room had not had a thorough cleaning in perhaps two to three years. 4.) Car parking is free (as advertised), but only from 5:00pm through 9:00am the next morning. Basically overnight parking in the commercial lot across the street. If you arrive early, or want to walk around town during the day, it's a Euro an hour for the 8 hours not covered by the hotel. The hotel does not have its own parking lot. These are just things to consider. Aside from the cleaning issue, we found The Granville to be a nice place at a reasonable price. Their breakfast, included with the room, was great! Everything you could possibly want. The eggs Benedict were superb. The assortment of fruits, breads, etc. was excellent. It's about a 10 minute walk to the city centre, and the tourist attractions. Room Tip: Get a room with a king bed for an extra €10. It's much larger.
The Granville was as usual up to its high standard. I think we have stayed about 6 or 7 times now and intend to keep coming back! Accommodation, Food, Staff - all excellent.
A beautiful hotel with great customer service and centrally located. We enjoyed our stay a lot and had a really nice room .
Honestly the best hotel experience I've ever had. Mainly down to the staff. Every single staff member was very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Well done. Room was also large, food was great and location of hotel was very convenient. The only issue I had was that the room was above the bar and smoking area so it was a bit noisy at times.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The only negative comment I would make is that the room service charge of €6 per person is too expensive and deterred us from getting room service on the evening we arrived.
Great staff and hospitality. I wish I had realised there were no smoking rooms available as my bathroom particularly smelt of smoke otherwise no problems and would recommend to anyone.
The hotel is a beautiful property, very well situated and the service throughout was first class. Special mention must go to your reception staff and the restaurant team who served us at breakfast and dinner. The food was excellent as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and actually extended it by an extra night because of how well we were looked after. Thanks to all. We would love to come back one day and have no hesitation recommending your hotel to our friends and relatives.
parking very awkward compared to out of town hotel options
Excellent overnight stay- great room and friendly staff
The hotel is well located to explore Waterford. We had a large comfortable room that overlooked the water. The breakfast room was wonderful and the staff there very friendly. The hotel has a huge pub as well.
My husband and I stayed in the Granville Hotel on St. Patrick's weekend. We found the staff very friendly and efficient, the food was very good and nicely presented, the room was very comfortable and the hotel iteself is very well situated. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Granville Hotel.
Lovely hotel . All the staff were very pleasant and helpful . Food was excellent . I would recommend this hotel for a break at anytime
This was the best breakfast we experienced in a long time. The staff were very friendly and helpful We will return soon
The hotel is beautiful and our room was very beautiful. The only drawback was how hot the room was. It was clearly cold outside being winter, but keeping the window brought in the noise from the street.
Lovely hotel. Room and breakfast top class. Staff frindly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay at the Grandville hotel. We have stay there several time. The staff are very helpful and the room are clean and confortable. We also enjoyed our meal in their restaurant. We will be returning to the Grandville again.
Really enjoy my stay at the Granville staff very nice and helpfull food was very nice plenty of it a good price rooms were lovely over all a lovely hotel would stay here again in a flash
very clean, exceptional room, fantastic staff, well done to everyone..
Excellent staff and beautiful rooms
I'm afraid I did not sleep very well. We were at the front of the hotel and the street noise was very intrusive. Saying that my friend slept through it all! When I go again I will request a room away from the street if there is one. Double glazing would sort the problem I'm sure. Other than that everything was perfect. I loved the breakfast especially the Muldoon whiskey with my porridge! Staff were very friendly and obliging. I would give a score of 5 but for the sleepless nights.
The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful and welcoming. I love the renovations that were done since my last visit.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Granville we were very happy with the room which was comfortable and quiet. We had dinner in the restaurant which was great one tiny complaint the chips could have been hotter. The breakfast was lovely and the staff could not have been nicer. We are frequent visitors and will continue to stay at the Granville.
Excellent hotel...food was amazing, especially the breakfast. Lady on reception was very nice and genuinely friendly. The other younger girl on reception was extremely helpful too - she even gave me a list of films with start times in the nearest cinema. And the big thing for me was that the room was not too hot! Would definitely recommend.
We had an amazing stay in your lovely hotel (breakfast was amazing), our first trip to Waterford, when we return we will most definitely stay with you.
Fabulous hotel situated centrally to everything. Rooms very comfortable, service great and food fantastic. I even brought home gifts for family of the hotels own produced homemade pots of jam (3 varieties) and salad dressing :-) and everyone wants me to go back for more. Loved the hotel and Waterford hope to return again soon. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Granville. The breakfasts and our evening meal were delicious and it is a great location to stay in for the city centre. The price for 2 nights was very affordable. The only complaint we had was that on our first night the people in the room beside us were very noisy late at night (Obviously after a night out) and were shouting/singing for about 2 hours around 3am. Not the fault of the hotel but it did disturb our first night. However the second night had none of that.
