History

  • Thomas Francis Meagher was born in the Granville in 1823.

He went on to become Secretary to the territory and Governor of Montana. He was a Pall Bearer at Abraham Lincoln’s Funeral and was originator and designer of our National Irish Tricolour, which was first flown in Waterford in 1848.

An intimate cosy space awaits you with a warm welcome from the staff and a fine array of food and drinks. Stephen Hooper our Executive Chef along with Ann Power our Bar Manager has worked together for many years to develop all the menus for the bar.

Stephen’s experience of local sourcing, coupled with access to The Granville’s own herb garden on the roof, means plenty of home grown tastes to explore.
